Chaotic,
Today, ADD/ADHD is well understood. It is known to be a medical issue, not a personality default. I'm in my 50s now, and back when I was in grade school, nothing was known of it, especially in private school! LOL!

I will stipulate though that having ADD/ADHD only means that the person has to learn the tools to overcome the particular disadvantage. It's *not* an excuse to refuse to do the work necessary to achieve. It may be more difficult, but, as we all know, there are many high achievers who have overcome their disabilities. Albert Einstein is probably the best known super acheiver!
We give the students the skills to overcome their problems. It's up to the students to do the hard work necessary to acheive. Yes?

AnaHanna, there's much today to help you overcome the problems inherent in ADD/ADHD. With willingness and hard work, there is nothing you cannot acheive!

Peace!
