I can imagine how bad it must feel... I love prarie dogs and they're always running all over the road and getting hit. I've had a few close calls with them, and squirrels, dogs... My heart leaps every time it almost happens and I thank God so much when I see them in my mirror, safe....

For me, I think it reminds me of the preciousness of life... accidents do happen, I think the deer herd would forgive you, they are loving creatures as much as we humans, possibly more so. I don't think they'd believe you'd done it on purpose.

I think posting a thank you is a fine idea, or if you have a local paper, a thank you ad... rest easy dear one, forgive yourself, you had no bad intent....
