Old habbits die hard, I know.
I just relapsed on my nicotine habbit, and I'm upset with myself. But, I called my doc and got a prescription for Chantix again. I will NOT quit quitting! But, I recognized what I did wrong too. I did not practice my quitting behaviors. I did not exercise or go to the gym. I did not keep busy, or otherwise distract myself when cravings came. I tried to "white knuckle" myself through them. Nor did I call another quitting friend.
Doing it alone doesn't work, my friend...

What can you do?
Do you go to NA meetings or other support groups? Do you have a sponsor you can call? Do you practice the 12 Steps? Have you picked up any alternative behaviors that you have put into place to replace your old drug using behaviors? Positive addictions, I call them, like exercise. Have you replaced your old drug using friends with new friends; ones that don't use or have never used? By getting into new behaviors -new hobbies, for example, you'll be more likely to find them.

Do whatever it takes to prevent yourself from taking the first one. We know, don't we, that it won't stop with one time. ANd it's a road to hell that you're thinking of taking.

Let us know how it's going. You are not alone. We care.

Peace!
