I, too, agree totally with my elders here. Everybody's body is different. No two people are going to react the same way to the same drug(s). Sometimes, things do not become apparent until the drug becomes approved and has a larger cross-section taking it. And sometimes, glitches can happen in the human body... mutations of genes, however slight. There are always more than one contributing factors! Trust me... I am a total freak when it comes to meds... codeine and that family don't knock me out... they make me hyper... non-drowsy cold medications knock me out... things that are supposed to cause weight gain don't... I loose, if anything, and those that cause weight loss in the majority of patients just don't do anything. Both my parents and my brothers are all deathly allergic to morphine... I am not. It is not a conspiracy... they are human, too, they make mistakes... things don't always go the way they hoped. Ask any of them, and I'm sure they would love it if they could just come up with a way to cure everything and have to find a new line of work!
They will find the combination that will work for you... it's a lot of trial and error. I'm sorry if it seems like I'm on your case... if it seems that way, I appologize! I know that it all can be very frustrating... trust me... I know all too well!
