Geodon is in the same classification as risperdal--atypical anti-psychotics. This group of drugs, while used to treat psychotic disorders, are also prescribed for other purposes. For example, they are used as an adjunct to anti-depressants. I am not psychotic but I do take seroquel, another atypical anti-psychotic.

I have no personal knowledge of geodon but i believe it is somewhat more activating than other drugs in this category.
