Hi weathered, you put that all really well actually, at least utterly recognizable to any bipolar person. lol.

I'm pretty sure adrenaline will intensify almost any mood, but I'm not sure you're describing adrenaline. I know I get adrenaline rushes associated with PTSD and panic attacks associated with that. I suppose some of the endorphines released in bipolar cycles have adrenal components too, but for most of us it's a little trickier than feeling "up" or "down."

It's good you're trying to get a better understanding of your condition. One of the better things I've been exposed to for that has been the DBT or dialectical behavioral therapy. It's centered around mindfulness and learning to practice describing your feelings and thoughts to yourself objectively. It might really suit you.
