Hay (no pun intended) neri,

That is one beautiful horse, but before you decide that you could make your money back (unless you get it for $300....lol),,,,got news for you..it isn't that easy....been there, done that with my trainer.

She bought a georgous Selle Francais stallion ($45,000) & I put a big chunck toward that (buying about 10 breedings from him). She & I thought we would get our money back also, but never had enough money to promote him...PROMOTION is the secret in being able to get your money out of your stallion (to sell breedings).

I also was stupid when purchasing my mare (which was also supposed to be a selle francais)...she wasn't & the jerk rancher got away with it since it cost me too much in legal fees to go after him..found that out after putting $5,000 into legal fees. The horse business is not that easy. The view of horse theives & shrewd dealers is actually true.

I got 4 breedings out of him & one I traded for breeding rights with a mare before I bought my own. It has also been rough because I have lost 3 babies out of my mare before I finally ended up with my live filly last Sept. It was about time I had a live baby from her, so she was properly named "Itssabout time" otherwise known as Issabelle (Izzy). She is the one I have pictures of on the photo forum here. I decided that I might as well not breed anymore & used the rest of the money to help out with the board bill instead of anymore breedings. I may have one more on the way...TBD when the vet comes out in a couple of weeks. I have sold one & have 1 more in training for sale. Izzy is going to be my replacement horse for my older (27 yrs) gelding, & hopefully the one on the way. With the vet bills & everything involved with breeding, it costs more that just breeding to a great stallion.

I noticed you have a new foal too...we should exchange chuckles & experiences some time...Yours looks soooooo cute.

Having my filly is the only thing that has kept me going through everything that has happened this last year...one foot in reality that needs my love & care. In that she is more valuable than anything I could ever have in my life.

One day, you will probably be buying a horse like you are dreaming about now....because dreams we have now may turn into reality someday.

Enjoy,
Debbie
