I can't imagine that if that dog did that kind of damage to your neice that he was not taken away by the police/animal control??!!!! That's mandatory when a dog bites someone.

If you want options about getting out of the situation you are in with an abusive husband, I would contact your local woman's shelter. Tell them what's going on. They should be able to help you with resouces to get out of there. Good luck.
