Good question!
I think, just like the relationship one builds with their therapist is unlike any other, though you may tend to use the same words to describe it as a regular relationship, the same holds true here.
BI (before internet)  there were no such relationships! So the "love" that occurs is a new and different one (and exciting too I hope.)
