Ok, so a million people have asked, Well, if a cross with a red-line through isn't allowed, then why should someone's angel avatar be allowed, or a fish?

This is going to seem like splitting hairs, but here goes...

The answer is simply this -- neither an angel nor a fish are making a statement against something else. They're simply stating their positive preference, hobby or heck, in some cases, people just like the way angels look.

A cross with a red line through it is saying, "I do not believe in this specific religion and I don't want to have anything to do with it." It's making a very strong anti-statement about one's preference and spiritual beliefs. In short, it's very negative.

The same is true with the "God is dead" statement. If you want to stoke religious fires, do so somewhere else, as that is not the purpose of this community. We give more lattitude in the poetry forum, but sometimes you can still cross the line there.

We're not pro or anti religion here. We just don't want to see people purposely aggravating others with their personal preferences.
