She just cares about you I guess...in her bossy and invalidating sort of way? It doesn't have to be her business or responsibility for that 
It sounds to me like she doesn't know the whole situation though...not saying that she should know, but when people don't know everything they are bound to say things like that.
I can understand why you are angry though
