My friend is a 55 year old man who has obvious psychological issues that has his elderly mother and I terribly worried.
He holds down a good job, but will likely be losing it because of his behaviours.
He refuses to bathe and he smears feces all over his bathroom walls, cupboards, sink, etc. He is also withdrawing from contact with all of his friends. He often phones his mother and pretends to be a woman or someone with an accent.
My concern right now is that his Mother is actually going down-hill emotionally and physically with worry about her son. Perhaps if she knew there was a physiological or psychological condition or diagnosis, it might ease her mind. There might then be a way to get help for him.
Does anyone recognize his behaviours as any particular condition?
I know that some autistic children smear feces, but I haven't heard whether or not this behaviour changes with age.
