jme, but drugs and alcohol for those of us that are/were addicted are the eptitome of evil. they will promise us everything yet strip us bare, taking away our souls, our spirituality, our family, our financial security and finally our lives.
what they really promise us is jails, institutions and death. i've buried a lot of friends in the youth of their lives because they chose to believe what drugs and alcohol promised them. it's ain't worth it to believe any of it's promises.
