Hey you two. We're back. Got home maybe an hour ago.
Whew! What a jam-packed two days. We missed the farmer's marked, but we toured the capital building, sat in Senate seats, got dizzy while looking at a painting 200 feet up at the top of the dome, rubbed a bronze badger's nose for good luck, saw some guy with a gold necklace the size of a small hubcap doing strange push-ups on the grounds, meandered down State St., ate veggie burgers at a sidewalk cafe while listening to raging blues (Chris Aaron Band sounds JUST like SRV if anyone's interested), heard a guy playing bongos that reminded me of the Ren Faire drummers (now I'm anxious for July to get here), toured the best cave in the U.S., "mined" for fossils, ate cheese and crackers and made friends with Gouda, the cat that's sort of the cave's mascot (he belongs to the people next door) checked out a Norwegian outdoor museum, and then ended the day with go-karts and mini golf. 46 hours and 330 miles later, I'm ready for a nap.
