When I've had hives, they were more systemic, and I needed a systemic medication (oral or injection). Creams are good for something more surface and rashy and localized. The hives I've had and that I've seen on my kids are not like a rash. They are much bigger bumps, like welts. And they come and go on different parts of the body. Hives are weird! I think a cream sounds good if you have a rash on your face. You can also try benadryl.

I hope the cream helps your rash, jbug. It sounds like mangoes are a common thing to be allergic to. I didn't know that.
