I don't actually have much of an answer for you - though i have heard of this, never in someone so young. The good news is if it is seizure activity in the brain it should be able to be helped with medication.

Keep your spirits up. Even if it seems like its not working, continue to comfort her. You never know what little bit it might be helping. You are such a good person!
