Chaotic, thank you for sharing your wonderful, expressive drawing. I am sure they must help you a lot to draw and help communicate a lot to your T, when you choose to share. Can you say anything about the bird in the corner?

For me, my art would be poetry or other writings, and I have shared a poem once with T and it was so expressive and communicative, that it was worth a half dozen sessions of talk. I also have some disturbing poems that, in a way, I would like to share with T. But they communicate disturbing things I have not shared with him, so that would be hard (ummm, sunny, where did this stuff come from?). Plus, then he might want to talk about that stuff! I don't want him to be disturbed or think I am disturbed. We all have disturbing thoughts, don't we? And somehow art is an easier way for them to come out than talk. I also worry that if I shared a poem with T (even though I did it once before), he would minimize it and say let's do some real therapy, not read your poems. Lots of anxiety around sharing poems!

Chaotic, when you share drawings with your T, do you then talk about them?
