Thank you both. The surgery is for thyroid cancer. We didn't know that the anesthesia resident was planning on speaking with us at the time of the tests. Neither did our therapist.
Our mood has been all over the place and we don't feel comfortable trying to speak to the anesthetist. We've been made fun of before by "professionals" when we try to explain why some panic. We can't postpone the testing because of scheduling issues.
Maybe this is the way it should be. If the tests and trying to speak to the doctor and make sure he understands the other's panic are too much, we shouldn't have surgery. If that means a shorter life...so be it. no one will notice any way. We don't know any more. Life hurts.
