In this instance YES it was statatory rape. She was 12, you can't tell me she looked 18!!!
But I will say there are MANY cases that I have heard where I disagree with statatory rape. I think it is a legal issue that isn't for this period we are living in. Girls are having sex younger and younger and they shouldn't be able to have sex willingly then another preteen or teen go to jail or get on the sex offender list for it. These laws need to change with the times besides the punishments don't always fit the crime.
I know I will probably get some heat or this opinion and I will apologise now and say I don't mean to offend anyone or insult anyone.
