The pill regulates so going off it gives your body the ok to be wacko. If the pill doesn't work or as adverse side effect for you there are other option. I was on the Depo Shot for one year. The ONLY downside to it was that when I stopped getting the injections it took a full year to wear off so it took me like 16 mo to get pg when i wanted to.
There are the IUD's that the dr places in the uterus and you don't even have to think about for like 5 years
there's also the ohhh can't think of it's name now but the fitted thing that you put in right before sex...diaphram...thats it....oh there are these ringy things that you stick inside and work jsut like a pill, releasing hormones but only need to be replaced monthly.

So you have many options now...have a frank talk with your OB/GYN
