I'm signed up on the Wisconsin Well Woman Program. They're paying for my exam, a Pap, and a mammogram. Now, normally I wouldn't qualify for the mammo, but my doctor had suggested I get one two years ago because of my age. With my depression, the woman who got me signed up said it was a good idea for me to have a mammogram now since I have no problems. That way I'll get a clear bill of health and I won't have that to worry about and maybe increase my depression. Is that cool or what?

I'm also signed up for expanded services, so the doctor is prepared to discuss my depression. If I didn't sign up for expanded, she wouldn't be prepared for that time-wise. The expanded services are something they've just added. It includes depression, hypertension, high cholesterol, diabetes, osteoporosis, and domestic abuse screening.

I called my primary doc when I got back and explained I have a physical scheduled, but not for another three weeks, and I really need to get back on Celexa now. Could he supply me with a one-month, non-refillable generic prescription? No problem, but I can't get it till tomorrow.

The veteran's benefits office is located just down the hall from the health department. I started to walk down, there, stopped, said I'd just call, and then said "No, go NOW. It's 20 feet away and it will save time to do it in person." Soooo, they gave me the number to call for home loans to find out how to get my name off the title and get my home loan certificate back. My ex keeps dicking around and refusing to refinance for one reason or another so my name stays on the title. If he defaults on the loan, they can come after me. I didn't think I qualified for medical help because I didn't serve in war time and/or wasn't disabled during my service, and the enrollment cut off for non-disabled, non-war time vets was like two years ago. But, I DO still qualify because of my income and family size. There's a VA hospital 25 miles away where I could get service. I don't qualify for the GI Bill for education, but I do qualify for 100% tuition reimbursement. I'll be able to learn a new skill for when I'm too burned out to do what I'm doing presently.

I'm relieved and excited all at the same time for a change. Things seem a lot brighter for once.
