Deli had a great tip, imo . Write down the specifics of what occurred, call and tell the police that you'll be dropping it off for the investigator/s. Get their name/s and department, so you can address the envelope completely (and avoid it getting "lost").

I agree with Nuck. I can understand your frustration. Lying to cover the tracks of others is done by the victim more often than not. A sad and frustrating reality for most everyone ~ minus the perp.
