NF, i was once where you are now. in time your situation will improve i believe. mine did immensely. it took time, therapy and meds, jme. i was in the system too. believe it or not i found the best doctor i've ever had while in the "system". when i regained control of my life i continued to see him with real insurance.
as for your family...many of us have experienced the sadness and disappointment about our family. first chance i got i moved far away from them. returned to my career and never looked back for 25 years except for short visits to see them. i "found" a new family....my friends. they love me for who i am. they have stayed in touch with me over the years no matter where i move to. i cherish them as they do me. i found true acceptance from them. unconditional love. i still have my blood family but my friends are the best family in the world. i hope this can happen to you too...keep us posted, k? we care and you do matter to us.
