Hi Ztrauq...
Welcome to PC!!
Gosh....this sounds soooo difficult for you right now!! So have you actually been diagnosed with DID/DDNOS by your T at this point. Has he done a full eval with testing. There are tests that trained therapists can give you to help make an accurate diagnosis.
First.....your perceptions ARE absolutely REAL!! Don't let anyone tell you differently....not even T. It is not T's job to tell you how you feel or what you are experiencing. Remember...as separate as your parts feel, they are all parts of you...they are not different people. Yet with dissociative disorders the parts can split further apart and take on their own identities. They ARE real. I think some T's think that if they deny the perceptions then it will prevent the client from splitting further.
It is possible to have more fragmented identity states with other disorders as well. Disorders like borderline personality disorder, and PTSD.
Things will work out for you...just hang in there and remember to breath. You may need to speak with your T and get a referral to a T that specializes in dissociative disorders if he does not. This is what I would suggest. And don't take NO for an answer. Be assertive and advocate for yourself if this is what you feel you need.
We are here for you!! Keep posting and we will help you through!!
