i'm not comfortable with a T that says "they're not real" either...he or she may be the kindest person in the world but that statement is almost like a litmus test in that...well, i don't think an therapist experienced in the continuum of dissociative disorders would say that. At the same time, i don't know the entire context and nuances of the conversation. If you haven't been seeing this T for very long (don't have a lot of trust invested), it might be a good idea to seek out someone more experienced.
Not going to T at all is probably not a good choice right now.
