SPD stands for Sensory Processing Disorder. If you are super concerned, you could always take him to the doctors. When I was younger I was diagnosed with Auditory Processing Disorder, which is a form of SPD that is specifically for sounds. (though, I don't think it is still on my record now because for whatever reasons they changed their minds even though I've remained the same) if in worst case scenario and he actually does have SPD, it is manageble. Depending on the severity I'm sure it could be easier or harder... but in my case it's not that bad. Sometimes I frustrate people though because when two different sounds are going on at once it's really hard for me to speperate the two sounds so everything get's jumbled up in my head and so it's really difficult for me to understand people when other noise is going on and it's really frustrating for them because I keep on having to ask them to repeat themselves. The only exception really is music, mostly likely due to a very high music IQ... but even then it's hard to understand the lyrics sometimes so I look them up for those songs
