While Sybil is a true story, that is NOT how most DIDers act...the DIDers we know try desperately hard to NOT show their inside selves to ANYONE outside of their comfort zone. For the Jewels, we would rather die than announce to the world that we are DID. There is such a stigma attached to any kind of mental illness, but we don't consider having DID as an illness, but a coping skill that we honed well to keep ourselves safe and within our walls there are few who have never been out, due to their own issues and at times their trying to commandeer the body to do things we would rather not say here...
There are a few movies that deal with DID...there is also one that is called The Three Faces of Eve...we watch all the movies once so that we know what is portrayed in them...and if we like the movie we will tell others about it...so far we have not seen any movie or documentary that properly addresses DID, but that is our own humble opinion.
Thanks for letting us give our two cents' worth.
