I took Buspar and it had some effects I liked, but it didn't really help with anxiety. I would rather take an anti-anxiety drug for anxiety than an anti-depressant (such as lexapro or celexa). I have a prescription for Xanax and I don't take it hardly ever, but it sure helps on the spot with anxiety. And it is not an anti-D so none of the problems associated with those. Have you considered a benzo for anxiety and skip the anti-D?
