Thanks everyone for your supportive responses to my post.
Anna342,
Thank you for sharing about your weight gain from chronic pain conditions and depression. My favorite form of exercise is walking, but your post has got me thinking about what else I could do in the meantime. Thank you.
Heygimm,
What a livewire you are. Welcome to PC! I had no idea we had a foot professional on PC. My Sinus Tarsi Syndrome was caused by the surgery that was done to put my fractured right ankle back together. The dog I didn't want, that my husband insisted on rescuing, ran around my ankles with her lead, then took off, and I went down like a felled tree. My current podiatrist is saying that the bone was reattached at the wrong point -- either too long, or too short, and this is the cause of the problem. That surgery took place in the summer of 2007.
One of the screws that they used to stabilize the ankle started sticking out this year. Fortunately, the bone has healed so it is superfluous to keeping things together, but it is upsetting to look down at my painful foot and see the screw protuding out under my skin.
Last summer (2008) I had a neuroma also in the right foot removed. Evidently the neuroma stump is what is inflamed now.
I won't even mention the stuff done on my left foot, since after surgery on that foot in the summer of 2005, 2006 and 2008, all issues on that foot have been resolved.
I had physical therapy after my ankle surgery in 2006.
Jan, Echoes, Christina and Bebop,
Thank you for your supportive posts as well. It is comforting to know so many people care.
