Antidepressants can be a really helpful tool, but have you ever tried yoga? It's something you can do cheaply and on your own, it doesn't require trips to the doctor or refills, and it's a long-term solution. The breathing techniques alone are hugely helpful at alleviating anxiety. Plus, the stronger you get physically and the physical improvement you will see in your body will go a long way at improving self-confidence and independence.
Just a suggestion for an almost free tool you can use against depression and anxiety.
