What helps me is getting enough sleep, not over doing it but getting some activity - that I enjoy - each day, relaxation techniques, doing things that I enjoy to take my mind off the pain and pain medication.

But having even mild pain every day and having to work at "being okay with the pain" every day gets old. There's so many other things I have to work at every day to "be okay with" - my depression, anxiety, grief, etc - that it all gets old and overwhelming at times. Then I have a pity party. Then I get back to work.

I'd rather have a visit, note or pretty picture
than an "I'll say a prayer" or a "god bless you."
Doesn't make me feel better, no meaning to me for sure.
Can't stop you from praying and blessing me,
and if that makes you feel better feel free.
But keep it to yourself please, don't tell me.
