So, I got there and wasn't as ready as the other kids, so then poor mom had to deal with me being all flustered

but it ended up not being a big deal- everyone was just hanging out anyways for quite awhile, I took some pictures with my friends.

Then we were called into the auditorium, and the boys got a little carnation corsage and all the girls got a rose with a ribbon on it. And then we got into our two lines for entering the gym where the whole thing was set.

Well, that went well, unlike practice where I went out too early (well, the teacher was waving her hand in the "go" motion! lol) except I walked a little too fast because I was still nervous

Then we sat down and had to sit through several speeches after the national anthem and singing Halls of Ivy and all the jazz. The guest speaker there graduated from the school in 1985 and ended up being one of the best Nike sales people out there. her speech was nice, but the superintendent was yelling into the microphone he was way louder then necessary.

Then, time for the actual diploma recieving, the closer it got to my row the more nervous I was, but I didn't mess up on that part either (really, I just had to walk up to the guy, shake his hand and look pretty for a minute before going back, but I HAVE been known to trip on absolutely nothing before) so that part was good too

Then we stood up as he presented our class again, the whole tassel flipping thing, everyone was cheering like it was the superbowl or something but then, it was time for the candle ceremony our school has (which is why my graduation was at night) Well, that went okay my candle was lit, we sung the alma mater, and was about to walk around with the candles...

...when my candle went out

I turned over to the guy next to me and said "ohmygodcanIborrowyourcandle?!" and it was lit again. So yes, the candle line moved slowly...I guess people didn't want to risk lighting something on fire so I had random people telling me congratulations, and some of my teachers were there and they were so happy and I think some hot wax got on my hand but that was okay. Eventually though as I was entering the huge crowd while leaving I had to blow it out that was I didn't accidently light a person on fire (hmmm, way to celebrate 13 years of school then setting some rediculously expensive hairdoo aflame?)

I hung out for awhile, talking to friends, and teachers, having a nive time. I ended up with my diploma (Regents with Advanced Designation with Honors), a bouquet of flowers, a giant cookie, a tiny sneaker, some certificates of merit, and a special little photo album from my envirothon captain because I was in envirothon every year since I started high school (so far that one is my FAVORITE. ) I got a bunch more pictures with my family.

And as we were leaving I shouted "Bye everybody" out the window and ticked my brother off, as well as continuosly saying bye to people before we left. He thought that was stupid but he didn't even graduate so to him anyways lol.

and yep, that's my graduation in a nutshell.
Thanks for this!
