I agree, no one is born to be abused. And resistance may not be enough... but outright drawing the line about what you will and will not tolerate.

You say you don't wish to talk with your dad, but have you talked about this??? These feelings... that you are feeling right now towards him? You need to discuss them with someone, if you feel safe enough, he's the starting place.
