I have a few questions for you. Are you bored with him gone? What kind of social life do you have outside of your relationship with him? If you are not keeping yourself busy (spending time with friends and family, working, hobbies, etc.) then it is easy to sit around and eat to comfort yourself.
How active are you? Do you exercise? Sometimes exercise will decrease hunger and when you do want to eat it will be when you are actually hungry and your body actually needs food.
Those are just a few things to think about. You need to stay busy. Also, I find that drinking a glass of water when I start to feel hungry, but know that I shouldn't eat, helps me to stay out of the fridge. Good luck.
