It sounds like you are having a really wretched time. I have Bipolar 1 with rapid cycling. I experience mixed states sometimes, so I know how awful it can feel especially if it goes on for 2 weeks like what is happening to you now. It sucks that you have to wait until July 7th to talk to a doctor. I am glad that you have seen a therapist.

In response to your question about hospitalization, I would ask what you think being in the hospital would do for you. Hospitals can be very helpful for those who need a safe place. I have had several hospitalizations that helped protect me from seriously injuring myself. My experience with hospitalization for severe mood issues has been mixed. Sometimes the structure of the day with all the various groups and the tweaking of the meds is beneficial. However, I have had some hospitalizations where I felt that I might have improved at home if I had given it time. You might want to think about trying to hold on until your doctor's appointment as long as you don't become suicidal. Hospitals are very restrictive places that take away many of the pleasures of life so you might want to consider waiting to see the doctor if you think that you are more comfortable dealing with your mixed state at home than you might be in a hospital that could make you more miserable.
