INCREDIBLE!! Sometime last October - December, I turned in Superior Mobility into the Medi-Cal Fraud Division because I became aware that they had put my chair in for more repairs than it needed. At the time, it was a way for me to put on a little pressure hoping that it would get SM to move a little faster. I did not know if anything had come of it or not... until this morning. Apparently, they were just getting around to responding to my complaint, but just in time. Say what you want, but I know that it was God acting on my behalf.

Just when I had my fill of putting up with these people, it happened!
I got a call this morning from the Fraud Division referencing my complaint. The gentleman said something in past tense form and I corrected him. We were on the phone for quite a while as in one way or the other, I would up repeating my story at least three times starting from two years ago till my call last night to Superior Mobility.
At the end of the conversation, he told me he was going to pay SM a visit, but didn't say when. However, he gave me his name and number and told me to call if I had more to add to the story. Around 1 PM, I got another call, this time from Superior Mobility. I was tempted to not answer but I knew I had to face the music if I was going to get my chair.
The General Manager, without any preamble, told me that I would be getting the appropriate chair for my weight and use, no later than the third week in July. I told him I was done waiting, reason #1 I was fed up, and reason #2, my chair was now unusable. He gave me their usual song and dance that the third week in July would be the very latest but that they were trying to expedite the delivery to their store. We'll see.
I see this as a victory!

Although I still don't have my chair, I know that SM has a fire built under them.
I am working on the sign that I'm going to hang on the back of my chair. I still plan to call the Americans with Disabilities Association and get them involved as much as I can. I might even stage a small demonstration in a very public place to get the local newspaper to carry the story. I know that there are others that are going through the same thing I have. How? The VP of the company addmitted to me that the same ... ahem! ... broad that was handling my case had done the same thing to others.
Wrong move when you mess with this tough old broad! LOL You'd think they would have learned after all the other agencies that have contacted them about my case. Maybe they didn't know I was acting on my own when I sic-ed those agencies on them. I get the feeling they think I'm stupid.
It amazes me that what I thought was the smallest complaint turned out to be the one with all the power.

The story is still unfolding. It's certainly not over yet. I don't have the proper chair under my fat behind yet. LOL
I've still got Superior Mobility in my cross hairs!!
Stay tuned, more to follow!
