I am sorry to hear about your loss. It is hard to handle no matter how small the creature...they all count in my book. I remember as a child, I had a boyfriend in 6th grade that gave me a horneytoad he found in the field. I loved him & tried to take the best care that I could. He died soon after but I remember how that death affected me. Couldn't stop crying for days. I have since had many pets & everyone of them that has died caused me to feel more sorrow than most people understand.

I am so glad to see that you & your family truely care about all creatures. It is a wonderful feeling to care about them so much, even though we feel a great sorrow when we lose them. Every creature deserves that kind of attention & there is no creature that is despicable.
