It is good to focus on what we have, rather than focus on what we don't have.... but it can be a growth opportunity to explore what appeals to us that we don't have, too. Exploring can reveal our interest, curiosity, passions and the awareness we gain can open up our lives to more richness.
Echoes, I agree......most definitely.......this is just an observation on my part....I agree on the judgements associated to comparisons being the culprit...there is nothing wrong with goals or dreams or seeing where you are at, the thing is, I have found that people, mostly in real life, lack the distinction. I see my friends struggle immensely with the almighty dollar......yep, nice to have money but it is transient. It can go as quickly as it came.....my own personal experience....

I have seen much sadness and disfunction recently in my close circle of friends(that consists of about 3 people irl!!). And it effects me on a visceral level.......I know it will change, but there are big lessons for my poor mates......

Thanks for your wonderful input Echoes......enlightening as always......
