It's what I always do, especially when I'm not really comfortable.
I know my last T's office layout by heart, I could tell you the color of the couch and the giant plant she had and what shapes the leaves were and the view from her window, all the different toys she had on a shelf but I was always too afraid to take a look at. I can tell you the exact layout of the T's office I have now, he has three stuffed animal dogs, one of them is a german shepherd. Though, I don't look around as much in his room.
