I wondered if it was worth it for the first 6 months. My period before was heavy and painful, the "breakthrough bleeding" (as in I rarely had a break) wasn't painful, just annoying. I remained on it for another two years, but the headache side effect was too much for me as I am prone to them anyway. It does take a while for your body to adjust to the hormones. Having only 4 periods a year isn't what it's used to.
Unless you are saturating a pad more than once an hour there is nothing to be alarmed about at this point. But if it makes you feel better check out their website or contact your doctor. These are extremely common symptoms but they do go away after a while.
