I'm 23 and I live in Phoenix. I didn't know there was a bipolar rehab place in Tuscon. Do you have a website or something? There are a lot of places that offer free services or medications. I can find some links for you if you like. Do you have insurance through your parents? I had to get a job and get my own insurance because my mom doesn't believe her perfect oldest daughter could have anything wrong with her. I was diagnosed Dec 2007 right before my birthday. It is important that you get treatment. You are LUCKY you found out early. Statistics show the earlier we know what's wrong and start getting help the better. Paddy had a post about a documentary called Secret Life of the Manic Depressive earlier this week. Find it and watch it. Think about maybe asking mom to watch it. It's good to be in a place where you're understood. Antidepressants usually throw you out of funk unless they are paired with a mood stabilizer like Lithium or Lamictal. Read. Everything you can. If you need anything at all, email me or anyone else. We're all friends here. Bipolar may be part of you, but it doesn't own you. Try to remember that.
Your real friends will stick around. That's the same whether you're bipolar or not.

Thanks for this!
