I had to get a job and get my own insurance because my mom doesn't believe her perfect oldest daughter could have anything wrong with her. I was diagnosed Dec 2007 right before my birthday. It is important that you get treatment. You are LUCKY you found out early. Statistics show the earlier we know what's wrong and start getting help the better. Paddy had a post about a documentary called Secret Life of the Manic Depressive earlier this week. Find it and watch it. Think about maybe asking mom to watch it. It's good to be in a place where you're understood. Antidepressants usually throw you out of funk unless they are paired with a mood stabilizer like Lithium or Lamictal. Read. Everything you can.
