Susan, I have felt similar many many times. But like a rollercoaster I will feel better for awhile and then sink back into my dismal depression again. The one thing I have learned is that what I am feeling, be it pleasant or miserable, will change. It is so frustrating to feel bad but pay attention to your self talk. Say I feel bad today but I know it is temporary. I have worth to the world even though some days I contribute much, some days little and some days not much.
Try to do one thing every day that you enjoy. A TV program, listen to music, or a piece of chocolate.
