I'm new here, just intro'd myself in the newbie forum. Anyway, I was wondering if some of you can chime in with your experience regarding your diagnosis of ADD/ADHD.

A few questions!

1. Did you go to your first appointment and tell your doc that you think you might have ADD/ADHD, or did you just tell him/her your symptoms and then take it from there?

2. What was the screening and diagnosing process like? (Did they ask you a lot of questions, or did they just make you talk? Did you have to fill out questionnaires?)

and lastly, but not least,

3. How long did it take for your doc to make that diagnosis? One session? A couple of weeks? A couple of months?

Thanks so much. I've been in psychotherapy for some months now, but want to see a psychiatrist as well. I suspect that I might have ADD/ADHD or anxiety, or depression, or hell, a combination of any of them.

My first appointment is this Tuesday, and I would like to know what to expect on that day!
