I first went to my family dr. Told him that someon had mentioned ADD to me and that I wanted to get his opinion. He asked several questions and referred me to a neuropsychiatrist.

When I went to the psych dr, I was there for 3 hours. I know different drs do different processes. He first asked me a series of question like why I thought I had ADD, and alot about my history. Then the "test began". I was a long adn exhausting test which tested my memory and attention. He then got the "score" and sent that to my family dr in about 2 weeks. My family dr gave me the results that I did in fact have ADD and started me on meds.

I guess it all depemds on the severity of your ADD and how the drs handle it. It only a 3 appt process but it took 2 months to get to all of them.

Best of Luck to You!!
