Like I said in my original post - being a relative newbie, I even hesitated to post at all.......but having said that - this whole thread is unbelievable. IF a person wants to start a "discussion".....IMHO, they do so without telling "whoever" they were addressing that there was an "inaccurate" usage of the term Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. A "discussion" starts with something other than an "accusation". Perhaps, something along the lines of "I always thought CBT stood for Cognitive Behavior Therapy , but I have been seeing it written as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy - any thoughts as to why it is called both?"
I have seen people be mean and petty over something that is really a tad foolish. AS DocJohn pointed out, it is correct BOTH ways.
I don't know SKy, and until this thread, had not seen anything but supportive and caring posts from her. YES, there have been threads thru out the entire site that were "for fun", or "off topic" (perhaps in some people's opinions ) for a "support site", but comparing the bickering here, and a thread someone else started because it was of interest to them, seems rather mean spirited.
I suppose after reading the definition of "newbie", I will always be one, because I sure as heck don't see what the "oldtimers" understanding the reasoning behind this bickering on this thread is all about.
I am outta this thread - I REGRET ever having posted to it. I have tried to be supportive, and helpful, and pleasant to everyone. I do not get annoyed easily, but to argue about the usage of ONE word, over and over, seems unkind and uncaring................
Have a good night and a better tomorrow.
