Im majoring in Psychology and Im almost done with my BA and then I'll be going on to get my Masters, but one thing that is staring to really urk me, is how pretentious some of my fellow classmates are. If you look down at others, you should not work in mental health, if you think your better then others and your smarter and your so much more educated and blah, blah go do something where your narrow minded, shallow thinking can be useful, but dont get into a profession where you are going to only pretend to care about others well being and probably screw them up even more. There are entirely too many bad therapists out there and its because they are doing it for the wrong reasons. If you want to help people, thats great the world needs more people like you, but if you dont actually care about anyone else but yourself and your so full of yourself that you honestly think your better then everyone else, please go do something else. I dont know why people think that being pretentious and smug are good qualities. It almost makes me want to change my major, almost. But then I realize that there are people who need help and the more people who become therapists because they care, the better the world can be. I had to get that off my chest.
