You can always negotiate a commission, in any business, btw. The probalem with going too low with real estate is that it's usually split with the other realtor (buyer/seller) and other realtors tend to look and work first with the higher commissions. (And why not, it's their work income!) WIth the boon here in South FL you can find commissions at 2% (because the property values are inflated so, they make good money even at the low rate.)

But still, imo, it's a job that needs to be done correctly. With that said, I have never had a good experience with any realtor. sigh. Maybe they are just too busy, or a certain type of personality that doesn't pay attention to details? I really don't know, just thinking about it.
