Well, laughey this time. Over in
this post in Psychotherapy a member tries to make the ROTFLMAO smiley work but it ends up for her as just lower-case text between colons.
When I try it myself (by previewing a "reply" to her post), it doesn't matter whether I type in colon-ROTFLMAO-colon myself or click the animated icon in the smileys window; the software turns the uppercase text into lowercase and that's how it stays, colon-rotflmao-colon without turning into an emoticon.
I'm going to try it here now, all three ways:
:rotflmao: <--- typed in lowercase

<--- typed in uppercase

<--- inserted by clicking on image in smileys window
According to the preview, the first one is staying colon-lowercase-colon while the other two do turn into animated images. That's an interesting result but
different from what was happening in the other thread -- and of course now I'm wondering if either result will have changed next time I look at the post.
I've used the ROTFLMAO many times in recent weeks and never had any trouble with it before.

Well, how about that! In a
later post in the same thread by another member, the ROTFLMAO works normally.
