PTE - I am really not a big fan of the regular Effexor™ (venlafaxine). The half-life is much too short and invariably you end up seeing all of the side effects that you seem to be experiencing.

The edginess and shaking are two initial side effects (ie. start-up side effects) that usually do decrease within the first month, but it is almost as if you are metabolizing the drug really fast and are going through mini-withdrawls. I would ask your doc why you are taking the regular Effexor rather than the once-a-day extended-release (Effexor XR™) version. There could be reasons to stay on the regular, but like I say, the regular Effexor is so finicky that I avoid it unless absolutely necessary. Maybe I'm lazy, though ....
