I understand what you are going through. Hard as it is, you have to control your thoughts and remind yourself there is no bugs because you have taken the necessary steps to keep them away. I know easier said than done.
I have OCD, also, and I have work to on my thoughts and obsessions at all times. I feel bad when I give into them. It is hard break these habits. My husband said just stop it period. I told him to stop smoking. I think he is getting a better understanding.
Practice on waiting to double check. Each time try to make it longer than the last time. This is what the doctor told me. It does work. I do admit to falling of the wagon at times. I, also, do a lot of praying. Finding something to keep your mind occupied helps too.
